Duquesne University
I joined Dr. Carl Anderson's lab at Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, PA) in the fall of 2019. I had just completed my BS in Biochemistry from Grove City College, and was interested in learning more about pharmaceutical manufacturing. The pharmaceutics PhD program at Duquesne fulfilled that knowledge gap and has been more educational than I could have imagined. I have gained extensive experience with continuous manufacturing (CM), process analytical technology (PAT), and chemomstrics. My work has focused extensively on near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy and dynaimc image analysis (DIA) as PAT tools for a CM process using twin-screw granulation and a novel pneumatic conveying dryer. I hope to take this knowledge into an industry position where I can help to develop novel CM equipment through the use of PAT and chemometrics.
