Jayanth Panyam, PhD, Dean and Professor, School of Pharmacy, University of Washington
Dr. Jayanth Panyam is a Professor of Pharmaceutics and the Dean of University of Washington School of Pharmacy. He was previously an Endowed Professor in Targeted Drug Delivery and the Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics at the University of Minnesota. He completed his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy in 1996 from the TamilNadu Dr. MGR Medical University and master’s in pharmaceutics in 1999 from Banaras Hindu University. Dr. Panyam earned his doctorate in pharmaceutical sciences in 2003 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. His current research focuses on targeted drug delivery, anticancer vaccines, and antibody discovery. He has authored or co-authored more than 90 peer-reviewed publications, several book chapters, and six issued patents. His publications have been cited more than 16,000 times. His research has been funded by the NIH, Department of Defense, several regional and national foundations, and by the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Panyam has received several honors including fellowships from American Heart Association, Thomas Jefferson Ingenuity Award presented by the University of Nebraska, and Ralph Wilson Award presented by the Ralph C. Wilson Foundation.
