Chengbei Li is an associate principal scientist in analytical research and development from Merck & Co., Inc. She earned her Ph.D. degree in analytical chemistry at University of Massachusetts - Amherst in 2013. Her graduate research was focused on ultra-trace elemental analysis in various challenge sample matrix using Inductively Coupled Plasma - Mass Spectroscopy (ICP-MS) and developing new methodology with ultra low detection limit. Chengbei is passionate about problem solving, developing methods and innovation to support process development. Prior to Merck, she worked at Hikma Pharmaceuticals and acted as subject matter expert for elemental impurity risk assessments. In her professional career, Chengbei has worked in a number of roles to demonstrate application of ICP-MS capabilities in pharmaceutically relevant problems. She provides innovative solutions to solve challenge problems across company on structure elucidation of unknown as well as quantitative analysis of elements at major or trace levels by leveraging other thecnique such as high resolution mass spectrometers (HRMS).
