A PhD candidate within the InPharma European Industrial Doctorate program. During his project he develops and evaluates a Physiology Based Biopharmaceutics Modelling (PBBM) framework for oral drug products, using the Open Systems Pharmacology suite. Started in industry at Bayer AG in 2021, within the Systems Pharmacology and Medicine group. And finishing the program in academia at the NKUA, Department of Pharmacy, in 2024.
Paul received his MS degree in Drug Discovery & Safety from the Vrije Universiteit (Amsterdam, the Netherlands) in 2020. During his masters he specialized in drug disposition and safety assessment and spent an eight-month internship at TNO, the Dutch institute of applied sciences. Where he used data obtained from ex vivo intestinal permeability and liver perfusion experiments to inform physiologically based pharmacokinetic models. This is when he discovered his passion for pharmacological in silico modelling and made him pursue a research career in this field.
