Graduate Student
Rutgers University Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy
My name is Benjamin M. Yee, MS and I am a fourth year PhD student working in the lab of Dr. Patrick J. Sinko in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Rutgers – The State University of New Jersey where my research is focused on synergistic interactions of polymers to be used in the sustained retention and release of ophthalmic therapeutics. Prior to starting at Rutgers, I obtained a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University at Buffalo where I studied the endocytic receptor protein megalin, changes in its expression in diabetes, and characterizing expression and function in glomerular mesangial cells. I then worked in industry at a CRO optimizing a lipid nanoparticle for its use in an immunotherapy. My research interests revolve around the development of new technologies and drug delivery systems for the enhancement of pharmacokinetic parameters and ADME processes, specifically, absorption and distribution.
