Graduate Research Assistant
University of Iowa
I am Aseel Rataan, a Ph.D. candidate pursuing my doctoral studies in the Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences program at the University of Iowa. My research focuses on exploring resistance mechanisms targeted by various selenium compounds to augment the effectiveness of standard-of-care therapies like axitinib in treating clear cell renal cell carcinoma. I got my undergraduate degree in pharmacy at Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2012, and subsequently pursued my master's degree in clinical pharmacy at the same institution, completing it in 2014. During which I specialized in combining simvastatin with temozolomide to induce apoptosis in colorectal cancer. This academic experience deepened my understanding of cancer-related research and equipped me with the necessary skills to embark on my doctoral research.
I am driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact through my research, and I am excited about the opportunity to continue my academic journey and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of cancer research. I look forward to future collaborations, engaging discussions, and the possibilities that lie ahead in my academic and professional career.
