Mette Klitgaard currently works as a postdoc in the Physiological Pharmaceutics research group at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Her research interests lie primarily in designing and developing in vitro models to evaluate drug performance after oral administration. She has worked with different in vitro models simulating the gastrointestinal digestion, dissolution, and permeation of poorly water-soluble drugs. She has recently explored the physiological conditions of the luminal fluids and mucus layer of the small intestine of fasted rats, as presented on her poster at this AAPS conference.
