Scott M. Hynes, ’00 PharmD, PhD is currently the Vice President and Head of Clinical Pharmacology at Reata Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Prior to this, he was Director of the Global PK/PD and Pharmacometrics Department at Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, Indiana. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Iowa in 2000, followed by his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Michigan in 2005. Dr. Hynes completed a one-year post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Arizona College of Medicine before joining Eli Lilly and Company in 2006. During the past 17+ years, he has been involved with drug development from early discovery to late phase development and submission. He has received numerous awards within Eli Lilly for his contributions to oncology research and development. Hynes is a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT). He has mentored several PharmD students during industrial pharmacy rotations. He is a registered and licensed pharmacist in Michigan. In 2017, Hynes spent two weeks in Peru as an international volunteer at a Mother Teresa Missionary of Charity. He also enjoys running, weight training, golf, vacations, and spending time with family.
