Phd Student
University of Nebraska Medical Center
Greetings! I'm Haochen, a passionate researcher and cat lover. I am accompanied by my two feline companions, Double and Triple. 🐈
My academic journey started with a B.Sc. from China Pharmaceutical University(CPU) in 2014, followed by an exchange at the University of Southern California(USC) where I successfully completed my final defense. I embarked on my Ph.D. at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in the fall of 2019, diving deep into prodrug nanomedicine development for autoimmune diseases such as lupus erythematosus, psoriasis etc. Leading most of my projects, I thrive on exploring new research areas in the lab and tackling challenges as they arise.
Prior to my Ph.D., I served as a scientist in Abbott's R&D department for a year, contributing to the development of rapid diagnostic products. Yes, our group was indeed instrumental in developing the COVID-19 rapid antigen test (though I had left for my Ph.D. studies by then). My aspiration post-graduation is to enter the industry where I can marry my strong pharmaceutics background with my interpersonal communication skills.
Beyond my professional life, I'm a cat enthusiast and an adventurer at heart, much like my feline friends. My hobbies include snowboarding, tennis, camping, hiking, and photography, which I use as a creative outlet for self-expression. Looking forward to connecting with like-minded professionals and potential collaborators.
