Graduate Research Assistant- Ph.D. Candidate
University of Maryland Baltimore
Noha Ghonim is a Ph.D. candidate in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology program in the University of Maryland,Baltimore and a faculty assistant at Fischell Department of Bioengineering, University of Maryland College Park. She is an ambitious researcher working under Dr. Tao Lowe's supervision on artemisinin-derived loaded biodegradable nanogels to treat leukemia. Her research focuses on developing novel nanotechnology platforms that unprecedentedly increase the water solubility of double-bong containing hydrophobic drugs (including artemisinin derivatives) hundreds of folds and sustain their release to effectively treat Acute Myeloind Leukemia. She also works on developing an iron oxide loaded nanotechnology platform for targeted drug delivery and MRI imaging capabilities.
