Nourhan Khaled Hassan, a Doctor of Pharmacy graduate, is a dedicated and accomplished individual with a passion for pharmaceutical sciences and research. Following the completion of her PharmD, Nourhan opted to pursue a Master's program in Drug Discovery and Development at Gulf Medical University. Remarkably, she managed to balance her rigorous coursework with a full-time role as a community pharmacist.
As a PharmD student, Nourhan's exceptional time management skills and academic excellence quickly earned her recognition. Her standout achievement during this period was her pivotal role in the research project titled "Brain targeting of Fluconazole nanovesicles to treat cryptococcal meningitis." This project was presented at multiple international conferences, Duphat 2019 and the 79th FIP World Congress. Her poster presentation at Duphat 2019 was recognized as the "5th best poster presentation."
Nourhan's passion for research was further ignited during a summer research internship at Virginia Commonwealth University in her fourth undergraduate year. This experience expanded her horizons and honed her research skills, solidifying her commitment to the field. In her final year as an undergraduate, Nourhan published a review article as the first author, titled "A Clinical Review on Nutritional Requirements and Assessment for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus with Chronic Renal Disease."
At present, Nourhan is finalizing her Master's thesis titled "Optimization of stable Quercetin nanoparticles for targeted tumor therapy," which she presented at Duphat 2022 and received an award for the "4th best outstanding poster." Additionally, she presented her work at the prestigious American Association for Cancer Research 2023 (AACR).
