Dr. Sharon Leung joined the School of Pharmacy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor in April 2018. She is keen to incorporate her chemical engineering background to develop novel drug carriers with engineering features. Particularly, She is interested in developing bacteriophages and their encoded enzymes into the next generation antibacterials to mitigate the medical challenge associated with multidrug-resistant bacteria. She and her collaborators have published several key articles on preparing and characterizing inhalable bacteriophage dry powders, which later become an important research topic to develop bacteriophage therapy for the management of bacterial lung infections.
